Well, you’re here, so you probably want to know who I am. My name is Tony Schober, and I’m a certified personal trainer and the founder of Coach Calorie. I’m also a husband and step-dad to 3 awesome kids.
Back in 2011 I decided to start this site as a way to share my passion for fitness. Over the course of time the site started gathering a following. Today (January 2013) it reaches close to a half million visitors every month, and it’s growing fast!
Most of what I write about takes a common-sense approach to fitness, and I personally tend to take a slant towards weight loss. I developed a binge eating disorder in my adult years, and my self-proclaimed OCD behavior made me fall in love with diets. The numbers, macros, and methodical eating habits of diets forced me into a negative cycle of weight loss and weight gain.
Today, I still appreciate diets, as they taught me a lot about nutrition, but I’ve learned that being fit and healthy isn’t about a 12 week diet plan. It’s about slowly and methodically taking steps towards changing your lifestyle. I want to share with you the right way to do that and help you reach your goals.
First things first, I want you to block out all of the noise. As you begin to make the effort to change your lifestyle, you are going to be bombarded with all kinds of weight loss gimmicks, products, supplements, and gurus trying to sell you the holy grail of weight loss. Most of the health and fitness industry has devolved into a bunch of scam products and dishonest sales pitches that exploit insecurities.
The good news? None of those things are necessary. Save your money. I want to show you that all you need is your body and a steady supply of whole foods to achieve your goals. I am here to help you in any way I can. I’d love for you to connect with me. Follow me on Twitter by clicking the follow button below. I tweet out daily motivation, fitness tips, and healthy recipes, and I’m available anytime you have a question along the way. Hope to see you there!

Welcome to our site! I’m Deanna Schober, a PN certified nutrition consultant, owner of IntelliFit Coaching, wife to Tony and mom to 3 freakishly awesome kids. I also write for and help my husband run Coach Calorie.
I haven’t always been fit. It’s only in the past 5 years that I found self-care and a focus on health to be the answer to my weight issues. After 10 years of yo-yo dieting my way through my 20′s trying to get the baby weight off, I was finally able to lose 30 pounds by turning my focus from how I looked to how I felt.
I met my husband in the midst of this journey. His lifetime of knowledge that he shared with me helped propel me to the next level. My passion for self-care and good health through nutrition compliments his knowledge of how the body works and the science behind exercise and diet. This has led to greater success for both of us personally, and now we want to share that winning combination with our readers.
I am stubbornly passionate about holistic health–body, mind, and spirit. I’ve learned so much during my studies, research, and writing that I am anxious to share with anyone who will listen. Clean eating and exercise brought me a look that I had always wanted, yes. But that is secondary at most now. I feel amazing. I have conquered illness and long-standing health issues. I control an auto-immune disorder, Meniere’s disease, through my diet. I have more energy now than as a teenager. I feel as though a curtain has been lifted and the connection between what I was eating and my health was exposed. And now I want everyone who comes into contact with me to see behind the curtain too!
Here comes my Jerry McGuire Mission Statement *grabs fish and stands on desk*: My goal for 2013 is to ignite a movement towards clean eating and eliminating processed foods. I believe that eating whole foods, preferably organic, and eliminating processed foods is the answer to 80% of illnesses, obesity, even environmental and economic issues. The Western Civilization is in the CRAZY cycle of getting really sick from what they are eating, and then getting sicker from medicating the symptoms but not fixing the problems. This insanity has to stop!
I am here to guide you, the reader, through this process with my writing. You can also connect with me on Twitter, or feel free to leave your questions in the comments section-we try to answer all of them. We love hearing from you guys!
