Love reading the tips, finding them rreally useful, I try someof themout andamslowly losing the extra weight. The exercise tipsare handy asyou can do them at home, saves me asking up the gym lol x
It would be nice to win something for once
To begin cutting down, just eat half of whatever you eat, first, and then when you get used to the portions, then you can change some of the things you eat! Switch….instead of reaching for cookies and full fat milk, bake a couple of apples top them with a little granola and cinnemon and splenda, when it comes out of the oven, try a little fat free half and half….you wont miss the cookies!

Since june 2011 i have lost 71.5 kg using a weight loss product to start and watching shat i eat. I think if i can do that then anyone can lose a few kg here or there. I think the biggest help to me has been being able to read these posts and to add the knowledge i gain here to what im doing to achieve my goals. Its a major lifestyle changebut im healthy im off insulin and cholesterol meds and i now really enjoy exercising and i have joined a gym. The articles posted here are very helpful and dont think i have missed one that i havent read from start to finish. Great page. Well done . Very helpful.

). I’ve been reading and reading, and not wanting to blindly follow anyone’s advice, but the more I read your posts, the more it all makes sense. I do have to say, I’m afraid of eating too much fat. One of my real motivators for losing weight was my cholesterol. Summer of 2010 my Dr. prescribed Statins for me. I got the Rx filled, took one pill, and put them on the shelf, refusing to take any more. It seemed so wrong for me to be taking medication for a condition that I could control.
I’m enjoying this site so much. Deanna, you in particular have been a real inspiration to me. Seeing the changes you’ve made has been very encouraging! I’ve lost 50 lbs since March, but I feel like I’ve hit a wall and I’ve got at least 30 more pounds to go to get back to my pre-baby weight (my “baby” is now 10.5 years old

Hey Debbie, thank you for the kind words. Those statins are a crazy drug. It’s a medication that’s treating the symptom instead of the cause. Taking a pill to lower cholesterol that your body needs to protect its arteries can be dangerous. The better course of action would be to lower cholesterol levels by lowering arterial inflammation – which is done through healthy eating and staying away from processed foods.

I was the same way with fats but I eat them in moderation and only the healthy ones-I quit cheese and dairy which was one of the hardest parts but made the biggest difference.

One of the biggest reasons that diets fail is because of peer pressure. I think and I also practice, that if a friend of mine is on a diet/trying to eat healthy, that it is respectful for you to consider the other person’s personal situation before ordering. I don’t order poutine when I know that it’s my bestie’s favourite and she’s trying to lose a little. I’m not sying go to extremes, but take it into consideration. This situation also came up alot in my employment where I supported individuals with disabilities, most with food restrictions, etc. I always tried to consider this before eating lunch with them either out or in their home.

Do not eat while watching TV, you will not pay attention to the amount you eat. Want chips? Put a specific amount in a bowl and do not get more. Drink alot of water. Don’t forget fresh fruit to fill in the gaps.

The six pack ab post was a great article. I never think abut carbs and protein. I am going to try to get more proteins and carbs in my diet.

A big problem I’ve had is my job keeps me working lots of overtime and odd hours, so for me, I will get something quick and easy to eat, that is bad because you end up eating fast food and stuff that’s just not good for you, also by the time you get done with your day, who can go work out? I am so tired that it’s all I can do to get my house cleaned and laundry done, So, I guess what I really need to do is make it a priority in my life to eat well and at least go for walks, otherwise I know later in life I will surely have regrets. I actually made a New Years resolution about this very thing, let’s hope I can stuck to it.
I’m trying so hard to eat well and get healthy this year!! If i win I am putting that money towards new workout equipment.

I have managed to lose 5 lbs. this holiday season. My main way to do it was a suggestion from my doctor, use a napkin instead of a plate for dessert time, It made me takes less of the sweets.

About a year ago I started working out because I was told so by the doctor(I needed knee surgery recovery)but now I gave up exercising.I can feel the difference now.My body was so much better when I exercised.I think your site will help me get back into the”exercising mood”
