Yesterday I opened up enrollment into the 1-on-1 coaching program and many of you became new clients. It’s always exciting to meet and work with people who have a passion for changing their lives.
But when I sent out the email letting people know they can sign up and start their weight loss journey I received dozens of emails back with one very common theme – people don’t believe in themselves.
Why are things going to be different this time?
Will I be able to stick to the plan or will I fall off track like I always do?
Will I be able to stay motivated or will I give up after 2 weeks?
Your Self-Trust Has Been Shattered
I get it. A lifetime of failed dieting attempts has made you into a skeptic. And why wouldn’t it? If you continually try to lose weight and fail, you begin to feel helpless.
You no longer trust the weight loss process. You start doubting yourself. You start second-guessing your actions.
I mean, who wants to go through all that work of feeling restricted in how they eat (which is completely unnecessary by the way) and having to bust their butt with exercise (also unnecessary) only to get no results, or worse – get results and then gain all the weight back.
I think after a lifetime of that anyone would want to give up and say screw it. But that would be a mistake, and you know it. After all, if you give up, you have a 100% chance of not succeeding. Those are some pretty bad odds.
Give Yourself Another Chance
Your life is going to continue moving forward whether you want it to or not. You can stand on the sideline and watch everyone else succeed or you can get in the game and give yourself a chance.
Everyone fails. Everyone. You’re not going to stick to your plan 100% and never fall off track. No one does that. It’s what you do with those failures that makes the difference.
A mess up doesn’t make or break your results. It’s just a bump in the journey. If you learn from it you will be better because of it. I’ll be there to help you keep your mind right and to keep you motivated.
Start Rebuilding That Trust
When trust has been broken you don’t rebuild it overnight. It takes time. It takes commitment on your part and a willingness to take action.
It’s these actions and their results that help to reestablish trust in yourself. When you make the right choices and feel good about them you start tearing down that wall of change.
You start to enjoy the journey again. You start making choices because you love your body instead of doing them because you hate it.
Take That First Step
I’m not going to promise you this time will be different. What I am saying is if you’re willing to take that first step, you will have come further than 95% of the people in this world.
You can struggle with your weight, body image, and health and do absolutely nothing about it, or you can struggle and take action and do something about it. If you don’t like something – change it. Don’t hide from it.
All life changes start with that first step, and your success story will be no different. Do something – anything that takes you one step closer to your goal.
To take that first step you first have to start trusting yourself again. You have to believe that this time will be different. You have to let go of the past and work on loving yourself again.
Make the first move. Open yourself up to trusting the process again. It works. I’ve seen it time and time again with clients just like you.
Make that first step by leaving a comment below. Tell me one small thing you’re going to do differently today that will take you closer to your goal. And if you need the extra support for your journey, hire me as your coach and I’ll be there every step of the way so that this time is the last time you try to lose weight. Let’s end the weight loss struggle once and for all.
